Week 2 of the UFL gave us interesting highlights from football on a Tuesday night to an Easter miracle down South.

We saw some players continue to shine, and others rise up to the occasion when needed the most. However, we also noticed some flaws that made us question the skills and talent of even the toughest teams.

Even after the week was over, league co-owner Mike Repole gave fans on social media a chance to voice their opinion of the league so far. He was met with responses filled with pros, cons, and room for improvement in some areas. Finally we have someone who actually cares about the future of the UFL (Sorry, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson).

Anyways, let’s take a look at my three takeaways from Week 2 of the United Football League…

1. Tuesday Night Football Hits Different

People never saw Tuesdays as a day for primetime football. In the history of the sport, there have only been about a dozen football games that happened on that night, mainly from the NFL.

Football games on a Tuesday night are rare, so you should know that stadiums wouldn’t be filled to capacity. It was a school night, and too many families couldn’t attend the game. In fact, 5,799 fans were at Toyota Stadium to witness the Dallas Renegades dominate the St. Louis Battlehawks 31-15.

This was the only Tuesday Night Football of the season. We can only hope that we will or won’t get another one next season.

2. It’s Still Too Early For Fans To Assume the Worst

Since the season began, fans have been using team losses, fan attendance, and lack of marketing by the team cities as excuses to describe the status of the season and teams so far. People have been calling for teams to be relocated, coaches to be fired, and some players to be traded.

I think they are thinking too fast considering two weeks of this UFL season has passed. If I were the fans, I’d wait until the season is halfway done.

If they rather not wait, they can go on Repole’s X post and state the things they would change and more.

3. QB Austin Reed is UFL MVP Material

It might be too early to assume the worst case scenario for the league, but the same shouldn’t be said when it comes to picking the most valuable player.

After notching another win for the Dallas Renegades on Tuesday night, I believe Reed has put himself at the top of the candidate list for MVP of the league. He’s already leading the UFL in all common QB stats (yards, touchdowns, completions, and attempts).

He’s one of the reasons why Dallas is one of the best teams in the league. If he keeps playing the way he does, he’ll be gunning for more than just an MVP award.
