The Miami Dolphins’ star wide receiver might have just had the craziest NFL Sunday of his career.
Before he defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars this past Sunday, Tyreek Hill had an encounter with the police.
According to reports, the police stopped Hill a block away from Hard Rock Stadium for speeding and reckless driving. He then got into a verbal altercation with them, and the officers forced him out of the car, placed him in handcuffs, and made him lie face down on the ground.
Even DT Calais Campbell drove by, saw Hill, and stopped to help him. Officers handcuffed him too, claiming he was “disobeying direct orders.”
Both men were released once Hill received his citation tickets and made it in time to play.

Hill entered the game free of distractions, leaving the unfortunate incident behind. He stayed focused, recording seven catches for 130 yards and one 80-yard touchdown that ignited the Dolphins’ comeback.
He celebrated the touchdown by reenacting his detainment with Jaylen Waddle grabbing his hands as though handcuffing him again.
New Details Revealed
On Monday, officials announced that they placed one of the officers involved in the incident on administrative leave pending an internal investigation.
The union representing Miami-Dade police said in a statement that Hill was “uncooperative” officers “redirected” him to the ground.
The full body cam footage of the incident was revealed on social media. It showed one of the officers forcing Hill out of the car, two others grabbing him, and all three forcing him on the ground while one of the team put the cuffs on his hands.
A statement from the Miami Dolphins revealed TE Jonnu Smith was also detained for the same reason as Campbell. They also retain their relationship with the Miami-Dade police.
“We are proud to have a strong a positive relationship with the Miami-Dade Police Department and other law enforcement agencies and recognize that the vast majority of officers do serve the community with the utmost character and desire to protect all citizens. While we commend MDPD for taking the right and necessary action to quickly release this footage, we also urge them to take equally swift and strong action against the officers who engaged in such despicable behavior.”
