College football enters its third week as the Wisconsin Badgers pay a visit to Tuscaloosa to face the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Alabama, There’s No Time to Panic…Yet
After the shocking loss to Florida State, Bama fans erupted with disappointment and doubt. Most fans even took to social media to call for head coach Kalen DeBoer to be fired.
The team quelled the storm of negativity last week with a massive 73-0 shutout against Louisiana-Monroe. QB Ty Simpson was 100 percent in completions for 226 yards and three touchdowns. DeBoer even allowed backup QBs Austin Mack and Keelon Russell to play.
However, ULM was too easy. Everyone knew they were going to win no matter what. The easy part is done for now, but the real question is that the real challenges start with Georgia two weeks later, will they be more than capable enough to win them all? The way I see it is if they can’t beat the Bulldogs, then we start panicking.
When it comes to regaining trust with a Crimson Tide fanbase, Coach DeBoer has his work cut out for him.
Wisconsin vs. Alabama: Final Thoughts and Prediction
Bama might have found their second wind after last week, but they can’t take this matchup lightly. With Georgia looming, the team can’t afford to make crucial mistakes.
Wisconsin might have a 2-0 record, but they’re coming to this game looking a little broken. First, QB Danny O’Neil will be starting the game after QB Billy Edwards suffered an injury to his lower body in week one. Their offense has also been a little inconsistent in the first two games. The latest numbers have Wisconsin ranked in the bottom 50s in all offensive areas.
The defense, however, will give the Crimson Tide a challenge. They are 6th in the nation for allowing only 5 points per game and 4th for allowing 33.5 yards per game. They are also 3rd in overall defense.
Alabama didn’t have a problem beating them 42-10 last year. This version of the Badgers might be different, but I expect the same result from last year’s Wisconsin vs. Alabama showdown: victory for Bama. One can only hope.
